For reference, I work for a small digital marketing agency that employees around 8 people in office, been here almost a year now. No hybrid or work from home allowed. There have been plenty of red flags while working here. I am getting married next month. I requested two hours off a week prior to the wedding to get my teeth whitened. I am getting married next month. I requested two hours off a week prior to the wedding to get my teeth whitened. I requested the week of my honeymoon off when I started.

We get 12 PTO days a year, 18 after you've been with the company for 5 years. 12 days period, sick and vacation are all from this same bucket. I have never called out or taken a 'sick' day since I've been here.

I have this meeting on my calendar today to discuss how after my honeymoon, I will only have 2 days left for the year. They understand how I'm going on my honeymoon, but any time outside of those 2 days would be unpaid and are frowned upon. Was told verbatim that my CEO says that “people at this company don't get sick” and hopefully I am healthy the rest of the year.

I don't even have words for my frustration or companies that operate this way.
