Question: Do you think the owning class / elite are somehow going to eventually punish people who choose not to have kids?
With the world the way it is now, and the trajectory it is heading on, more and more people of my generation (Millennial) are opting for child-free lives, due to the harsh economic reality of having children these days, and also due to not wanting to bring children into a world that is headed the way it is.
I myself have gotten a vasectomy, as I have been very sure for years that having children is just something I absolutely do not want to do.
But that made me think. If too many people start to think the way I do, how will the elite ensure that they have the next generation of serfs to serve them?
Could they do it through banning abortion? Access to contraception?
One factor I think they have relied on in the past is the social stigma of child-free living. It is definitely real, and I still kind of feel it when I express my opinion on not having children to older generations.
Thoughts?
