As the title suggests I’m curious to know if companies are supposed to compensate you for working on a federal holiday. I’ve asked a few friends and also googled and looked at a few sources regarding the topic but haven’t gotten a clear response. The reason why I’m curious is because my boss told me that we might be getting time and a half but only up until midnight (I work 3rd if you couldn’t tell) my friends and every source basically says they have to compensate you with something and it has to be for the entire shift. I don’t have very much work experience so I sort of take everything at face value but I’m also not trying to get taken advantage of.
