So, I was called into a Zoom meeting at 1:30 & it literally went straight to final jeopardy. Apparently, I didn't improve enough & they told me today is my last day. I said “ok, thanks” & logged out. If they thought I was working until 5pm, they were dreaming. They're probably also were pissed I had to take my husband to the emergency room the other day (he's good now, thank God), but I wasn't letting him go alone.
I went into the team chat & wished everyone a happy holiday season & hope they would be treated better than I was since I was just let go. It was petty, but fuck it. The place has been on a steady decline & what they were making us do has been messing with our numbers too, but sure, I'm the problem.
I'm not even mad. If anything else, I feel relieved because all these changes have been stressing me out & I'm exhausted after work trying to take care of stuff at home & studying for licensure. Now I have time to review & take my test with no distractions.
I'm actually glad they let me go. I was going to hold out until I officially had a start date for my upcoming job, but now I can collect unemployment for the weeks I don't work. Peace of mind is more valuable than anything.
