So yesterday, I had a bad fall in my house. My geriatric dog pissed on the floor & I didn't see it when I was walking to the bathroom. I fell backwards & my right leg got pinned under me. It was severely painful & scary enough that my nine year old almost called 911 because I couldn't get up. I was able to once he brought a dining room chair over for me to hold on to.
I called my mom to come over & she took me to the ER. Thank God I have no fractures, but I have a sprained ankle, knee contusion & swelling in my lower leg. Because I work from home, I told my manager via text. For some reason, she called it a “personal day” & the VP wrote to an email about following the new procedures for calling out.
Since he sent that email to me, my manager & all of HR, I hit reply all to correct the information. I told them it was not a personal day as I was in the emergency room & obviously I didn't see that coming. But of course I will follow procedure when I know I'll be out of the office.
This company is going down hill fast. I can't wait to be done with this place. No one even asked if I was ok or tried to assist with any of my charts, but they always guilt trip us when someone else is off & they want sales in to raise our counts.
