Quit job 5 years ago over a miniscule raise. Ended up in a much better Job. Couldn’t be happier.

About 5 years ago I was laid off from my dream job and rebounded into a WFH making $10/hr. My wife and I had no health/dental/Vision insurance. 40 hrs PTO/year. Had an amazing supervisor. A very polite and understanding individual that I respected. After my CSAT and Average call handle scores were posted, I thought I'd leverage that to ask for a raise. They offered a $0.25 increase. I politely accepted, got off the call, and broke down. The next day, I started looking for a new job. I have 2 kids on Medicaid, barely got food stamps, and lived in subsidized housing. To make ends meat, I worked 40+hrs and always took OT when available, ubered on the weekends, and donated plasma. Found a union delivery job 2 weeks later paying 16.28/hr.

It was hard work, but considering what I was doing, it wasn't bad at all. Was able to stop donating plasma and off of food stamps and now had Healthcare.

A year goes by and I see a posting for a supervisor in training. Despite the union pressuring me to not do it, I move forward with it. Start making 19-20/hr and now working 6 days (1 day is pure OT). Don't have to uber anymore!

Three years go by still a supervisor in training, but I got a huge pay bump to 28/hr. Moved out of the subsidized housing and bought my first house!

6 months ago, I landed a full-time supervisor position in the town I live in. No more commuting! Started at 72k, but got a raise shortly after to 80k. I work 9-5 with Sat/Sun off. I get to spend every morning and evening with my kids and wife. I've started to pick up hobbies again. I oversee an amazing crew and would bend over backwards to help.

All this after saying a $0.25 raise wasn't enough. I wish I knew about this sub earlier.

Edit: Grammer and add story.
Bumped into WFH Supervisor (Office was in town and anyone local would often meet up at local bars) at local grocery store. Still as polite and friendly as before. Gonna invite over for a BBQ and drinks. These are the type of supervisors I try to emulate. I have never yelled or belittled an employee. I've written up someone, we both understood work was work and still talk to on a regular basis.
