Quit my job only to be immediately reaffirmed why I quit my job.

I work in the insurance industry and I’ve been with my current company 6 years. I have recently been dealing with some abusive behavior from my manager and despite taking it to regional management 3 times, nothing has changed. I started looking for work after an especially unprofessional conflict with my manager and found out that I’m in high demand. I applied for 3 jobs and got 3 offers, all paying at least $15k more and all guaranteeing remote work permanently. (I’m currently scheduled to go back into the office in a few weeks). So I accepted the best offer and wrote my letter of resignation, it went to my regional VP who I technically report to but my day-to-day manager who started this all was cc’d also.

I put together a very standard but very kind resignation letter advising that I appreciate the time and experience gained while I’ve been in this role and being grateful for my time working with the entire team. The VP called me about 30 minutes later and asked me what was going on and I explained that given the known issues/conflict with my manager I was prompted to start looking for a new role last month and in that process I found a position that pays more and offers me remote work forever. He seemed to understand the benefits side but still thought I should give up extra pay to stay working for him.

Additionally, I asked if he would like my documentation I’ve kept about my managers abusive behaviors to try and avoid future incidents but he said “No need, since you’re leaving the issue has resolved itself. If you want to complain you can do it in your exit interview.” (I am the 4th person I know of that’s gone to the VP about this managers behavior)

So yeah, fuck corporate loyalty, do what’s best for you/your family.
