Another help me decide post. Sorry. I work in patient services at a local primarycare clinic. The company is terrible, as it is run by a hedge fund. I used to be independent, I did my work, docs were happy, I was content, patients loved me. I frequently got from 98%of my patients told me how I made their day. We sat on the other side of the building from Urgent care and had limited contact with UC which was good because UC hates Primarycare and told us several times they did.
Nine months ago they decided to merge Urgent Care and Primary care which moved me to a shared space. The bullying was non stop from day one. Nothing I said or did made Urgent care staff happy. They misconstrued or took out of context everything I said to patients. For example if I said the only way we could reach patients with lab results was to call them and leave a voicemail so make sure it was set up. It would be reported that I told patients we don't call with results etc.
I wrote a post about four months ago but work said because I practice an alternative religion and made colleagues uncomfortable to see or hear me referring to my religion while Christians can still wear their crosses and read Bibles at their desks I could not.
It all came to a head yesterday, and I was given a quit or be fired option. If I quit they won't contest my unemployment, make me eligible for rehire, and maybe give me a two-week severance. If I get fired after being CAPPED I get none of it.
I want to stay, I start school in June and this schedule is perfect. Plus I'm petty and don't want to give the bullies the victory of driving out someone else again. But the constant stress, bullying, lying and harassment is a strain.
Suggestions? I can't afford a lawyer to pursue the harassment claims.
