Quitting and unemployment

So my wife has had a job for about a year and a half now, and she’s at the point where her manager has treated her badly enough to warrant my wife quitting. Everything from accusing her of stealing (she would never), to telling her she is dead weight despite her doing everyone’s job for them at times. Her manager has been verbally abusive, and doesn’t care about her work life balance at all, some nights my wife doesn’t get home until 11 PM even though she was promised the latest she would work is 5 PM when she was hired on. My question is, if my wife quits she won’t be eligible for unemployment, but is there a way for her to still receive unemployment? I’ve heard of others in this sub get fired so they can get unemployment while finding a new job, as we need her to…
