Quitting my job, two days left.

At the company I’ve been with for 8 years, I’ve finally decided enough was enough. I’ve been on the short end of getting raises, school tuition reimbursement that was promised but never happened, and being understaffed/overworked. I started as someone who work on the assembly line and moved up to a set up tech. After getting schooling done I joined maintenance, shortly after I was the lead technician for my shift/crew. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, still being short handed. A newer maintenance tech, that has been work for the company for about 4 months, accepted a lead position and got offered about a dollar an hour more then myself. It just feels like all the hard work, time, days worked alone, skipped breaks, energy and effort I’ve put in to do a good job was meaningless.

TL;DR
I’m I petty for quitting after finding out a new hire is making more then me?
