Quitting my job without notice – seeing if I’m in the wrong

Hello all, So I recently got a job offer from a different company (a competitor of my current company) for way more than I make now, with more time off, and more freedom. My current job is an absolute nightmare, I’m in a position that I am unqualified for, and if I screw something up my boss chastises me despite me constantly asking him for help or advice. My boss is very absent, when he’s in our office he just stays in his office talking on the phone (not productive calls) or he leaves for months at a time to go on vacation. On top of the actual work load struggles, I have also been getting paid $2 less an hour than I should’ve, and that’s been going on for 7 months straight which I have brought up to my boss several times, and he hasn’t done anything despite me…

Hello all,

So I recently got a job offer from a different company (a competitor of my current company) for way more than I make now, with more time off, and more freedom. On top of the actual work load struggles, I have also been getting paid $2 less an hour than I should’ve, and that’s been going on for 7 months straight which I have brought up to my boss several times, and he hasn’t done anything despite me complaining. The entire environment is awful and he is an awful person. If I do good on a project, he takes the credit for it, if he does something to fuck it up, it ends up being my fault.

My question is, I am very excited to work with this new company, not just for the money but for a healthier work environment. Today is Friday, and at the end of the day I packed up my things and left, problem is I didn’t tell my boss as he is away on vacation yet again. Judging by how much I feel like I am getting screwed, would it be bad if I left without notice? I don’t want to go back there ever again, and I hope the company collapses in my absence.
