Hi! So this is the original post above for those who didn’t see.
Basically the update is that my boyfriend went ahead and booked the tickets. He had today off and wanted to book them. He booked them for April 27-May 6 (which doesn’t coincide with their dates at all thank goodness) but I guarantee they are still going to give me a hard time about this. Things can get a bit busy around that time. But here are some things to keep in mind:
•I was hired PART TIME (20-25 hours a week) with lots of people who came and left, I ended up working 30 (which I didn’t mind, I need the money.)
•I am a STUDENT. I have Wednesdays off to focus on my online course. When I get my certification, I will be able to get a job in July/August timeframe. So they already need to account for me leaving permanently at some point. So they will need to hire someone else that I can train anyways. We have like one other person but they obviously need ME so damn bad.
I have never called out sick, I’ve only had sick time off at the beginning of my job here because I had Covid.
I am very diligent and efficient. If they give me something to do, I always get it done as quickly as possible. If they bump up some of their deadlines or maybe just don’t schedule a lot for the time I’m gone, they should be fine. Either way as stated earlier, they need to hire another person anyways. Especially if it’s supposed to get as busy as they claim.
So you get the gist. I am an amazing employee who bends over backwards for people that don’t always deserve it. I’m trying to think of every possible reason as to why they literally can’t say no.
Regardless, the tickets are bought. So it’s really a matter of if they want to do this the easy way or the hard way. I’m going either way.
So the point is: is there any advice on how to handle this if anything goes south? How would you handle it? I wanna see what everyone has to say! Thank you!
