Probably this will get downvotes since it’s a “anti work” group but let me tell you why I’m saying this.
So first about myself (m28), grew up in a very low income household in The Netherlands. Started working on weekend jobs from a the age of 14 to afford personal things. I didn’t do higher education and worked for bad and unfair employers so yeah, I understand most post here.
3 years ago I started to work for myself and now I’m financially free (low effort, high income) but to reach that I used my ‘hard’ work mentality.
Last months my niece (17) and nephew (19) want to become like me (young and financially free), I agreed to mentor them and give them a push into the right way.
But to my surprise they are just super lazy. Waking up on 7am on a Saturday to do some mentorship is to early for them, requesting them to do find a job to learn the workers mind is also to much to ask from them, they spend the most of their time with friends, playing game, going out till late and such. I know their young but if you want to reach more than a 9-5 live you need to give more.
I spoke about this with some like business men I know and they say that in their experience the genz’ers are the laziest of them all, zero effort but expect a lot in return.
I’m I asking to much from them or is this just how genz is?
