The other day I requested a raise from my boss, which I knew she would deny. Shortly after saying no, and that the $35 an hour I asked for was not realistic (I am a retail + wholesale manager, in my region that rate is average) she said “I think you just need to be okay with making less money…” To which I responded with judgement in my eyes and said “Interesting…” That's all. So full of anger and frustration about the way workers are disrespected. I've always worked for owner operated companies and have never had a boss I liked.
