So I just started working again at a large pizza company as a delivery driver. I worked here about a year ago while in college but I found myself working here again due to difficulties finding a job in my field after college.
I like the job enough but now instead of paying us drivers our tips in cash at the end of the night, it goes to this dumb Visa card/app called “Instant”. Now I get why our company doesn’t want to give us cash anymore (issues with not having enough cash/human errors) but dang did they pick a bad company to use.
I’m just trying to sign up for the damn app now and make an account and the app is so glitchy that it’s not even letting me add the store that I work at to my account. My store/company just didn’t show up and the app keeps refreshing/not loading properly. I looked up reviews of the card and a lot of people have had issues with trying to transfer their money from the Visa card to their actual bank account. Some people have said it’s taken them over a week, some said they were charged fees to transfer their own money into their own account or that their tip money just didn’t show up in their account at all.
I can’t really afford to refuse to use this card , I don’t think I have a choice in the matter and I don’t want to get fired, but I’m really worried that the app is going to steal my money or mess with my bank account.
Why do employers pull this shit??
