Hey guys I just needed to rant and get this off my chest because I'm so goddamn tired of these jobs treating us like robots. I'm on my break rn and I'm just… Genuinely wondering how the fuck my job is supposed to even function at this rate. Tomorrow, my department (I work in curbside @ a grocery store) only has one person opening, and then one person running the entire store until close. That's two people for the whole day. And at minimum we need one person in the back to fulfill orders and one person picking. How the fuck are we supposed to do either if there's only one person to cover an entire shift??? And my manager is so pissed off about it he's talking to our store director to quit. I wish I could just leave, but I don't have a car and there's no other jobs around me that can work for my schedule or the pay is even lower than what I have right now. Even so, I'm so sick of job hopping because the same bs happens where companies wanna stretch their profit margins and cut hours so we suffer. I just want a job that won't kill my body or my mind and have a wage that's livable. Or even better, abolish wage labor. (Although I probably won't see that happening in my generation.) I'm just really. Really tired of this.
