Rant employer provided health insurance is a form of indentured servitude

I work at a union grocery store with great benefits. Unfortunately the pay is crap and the job is both physically and mentally exhausting. I found another job that would be absolutely perfect for me. I could make good money working 3 12 hour shifts a week and I could bring my laptop and work on learning programming or something to get a better job down the road. But, I don’t want to be left high and dry if I ever hurt myself. Fuck. Why does this stupid system have to be this way?
