I got fired from a job that I actually enjoyed and I have mixed feelings about it.
I had only worked there about four months, and two months in I debated on leaving the job because I felt bad about missing a week of work(the flu). My boss convinced me to stay and that we would change my hours to make things easier on me. (I am also a full time student and single mom). I ended up missing more days because I was getting sick and my kid was getting sick. Then last week my grandmother died so I took another couple days to grieve. This week things seemed fine but I got a call today that they terminated my employment.
I understand why I was fired. But why ask me to stay and then fire me? I feel like they knew this all along and were waiting for a replacement.
