Would you return to former employer if they said they can’t meet the salary you want? Or if they offered you a lowball salary below the range you gave? Old manager asked what it would take to bring me back, I said $68K. HR called and I gave them a range of $68-72K, but was told that’s too high, so I settled for a range of $65-68K. HR called and told me they can’t meet what I want and offered me $62K, which is below the range they made go to of $65-68K! I was making $48K when I left the company basically working two full time positions that combined into one when a coworker resigned. I currently make $55K at another company. I told them I won’t return for anything less than $68K, which they said okay we will revaluate and made the comment oh that’s only $2.50 more. I got a call a few days later than when they told me they’d call back and they told me the can’t meet the amount I want and they told me that they’ve decided to move on to another candidate and I told them that’s okay lol the HR person kinda didn’t seem like they wanted to hang up then repeated multiple times that you never you know in the future…
