Rejection after rejection

So , I’ve been working in the insurance industry for about 5 years or so. Was fired from my last job as a sales insurance agent. Long story short , it was a very small firm in which I was promised training. However , training was more “ on the go” type training because the lead sales agent that was supposed to train me was making all the sales and had no time to train , nonetheless answer questions . Not his fault it was just too small of a company . So I was fired due to under performance even though the week before I had been told I was doing well. Anyway , I decided to start looking outside the insurance industry for some time, even before I had joined this firm. I have put in at least 150+ applications towards a more finance driven role in the…

Anyway , I decided to start looking outside the insurance industry for some time, even before I had joined this firm.

I have put in at least 150+ applications towards a more finance driven role in the last year or so which is essentially what I want to do career wise . I have gotten nowhere. A couple interviews here and there but haven’t been hired. Anyone else have this experience or feel like the job market is incredibly ridiculous ?
