Wow, what a shocker. Worked at my job for 5 years and gave 2 weeks notice Monday. Today I asked to leave early due to a family emergency and they told me the would let me know. They called me into a meeting and told me they talked to HR and were releasing me from my 2 week notice. I was in shock. Never been “released” before, especially not within a 2 week notice period. Anyways yes , I know most states are at will but still pretty shocked.
Also manager sent an email to the whole department that I was no longer employed there. Sorry to vent.
