I have been asked to share copy of my current employment contract along with payslips as part of their background check for new hires. Is that even legal? Contracts contain private and confidential information and I do not want to get into trouble for this. This is for a junior non-executive role (new job) and I feel like it's too much just for a background check.
Edit: I have offered to send them my offer letter (different from contract) and proof of my payslips but apparently that's not enough.
