I just have to rant for a minute. My fiancé resigned from their job as a teacher a couple months ago due to health and mental health complications. However, in the contract (automatically renewed from the previous year) there is a clause stating that if they resigned during the school year, they would be charged $3000 in damages. I know – we should have read the contract closer and we should have done this that and the other. But this is just kind of wild! Teachers are leaving in droves because of the stress, lack of support, poor wages, etc. And they want to charge teachers for resigning?! Just another way to ensure they won’t be getting our network of teachers
