They tell you “oh make sure you save for retirement! It's the greatest years of your life!” for who? you spend your prime years working your life away for half of your life and by the time you finally get to enjoy it, your body breaks down too. I've seen this so many times working in healthcare. Someone finally retires, can do whatever he wants – heart attack, stroke, immobility, cancer. By the time I can finally live like how wealthy people have lived all their life – free of responsibilities and burdens that the rest of the worlds bear, my body will be too brittle to enjoy it. What's the fucking point? I haven't put a dime into retirement for this reason, I would literally have more money now to live my life and just end it when I get too sick then spend my working years in poverty trying to save for retirement just to reap absolutely none of the benefits of it when it's time.
