We are severely understaffed, especially with experienced employees. Myself and another guy are invaluable to the company. We are licensed professionals in a niche area so we’re hard to replace anywhere, but most importantly we are the only ones with crucial institutional knowledge – upper management knows this. We are severely understaffed, especially with experienced employees. Myself and another guy are invaluable to the company. We are licensed professionals in a niche area so we’re hard to replace anywhere, but most importantly we are the only ones with crucial institutional knowledge – upper management knows this.

I gave them my demands.10k raise and keep the hybrid schedule, or 30k raise and I’ll come in every day. I suspect they’ll agree to one or the other.

My question is should I even entertain their offers to buy me back? He’s using economic uncertainty and hardship as justification to treat his employees anyway he likes. I hate that. That’s not how you treat people. It’s been a long time coming, but I have officially lost all faith in upper managements leadership and decision making. Even if I get a big raise, I’m not sure I could forgive that.

*additional info: yes, they do refer to the firm as a “family.” 🤮
