Interviewing at my dream company and the HR was rude and very brusque. They wanted to move forward with my application and the team I'm joining appears friendly. But the HR is just plain bad.
HR forgot about the phone screening session and we had to rearrange another date in person. It was ridiculous because I took a work leave just to be ready for the screening.
During the first interview, HR turned up 25 mins late and did not have the courtesy to share that she might run late. I tried calling and texting her but she didn't reply. She then strolled in saying she overslept and in the middle of the conversation, walked away for a couple minutes to make some coffee, as she “would fall asleep” if she didn't get some morning coffee. She then fiddled with her phone and nails throughout the interview.
During the second interview which was online, I had a round with the other HR managers, before meeting the team. When I joined the online interview, I heard the HR managers chatting and one ended off his sentence with “so dumb”. I've no idea if he was referring to me or not but this dampened my enthusiasm about the company.
However it was very enjoyable meeting the team and they seemed very friendly and polite.
And then, right after the meeting, HR called and started half-shouting at me to submit my portfolio again because she could not find it, and even snarkily said “it's not very important and honestly when I viewed it earlier it didn't look that great anyway. You didn't look like you knew what you were doing. Were you even aware of what quality means?”
Felt very insulted and humiliated in this whole process, and felt my confidence take a dip. If my portfolio was that bad, then she shouldn't be requesting for it again right?
Just had to rant as the whole HR behavior is just so….awful.
