Rules of working in the 21st century

The rules of working in the 21st century: Your job doesn't care about you. If they say they do, they're lying. Your labor is far more valuable than they'll ever tell you or pay you for. The only way to make more money is by garnering and leveraging skills. All other investments can be taken from you. To get ahead for yourself, you must work harder on yourself than you do on your job. Make your job pay for training, learning, and education at every possible chance. Never sign a broad non-compete, they will fuck you later down the road. They will sooner hire five people to replace you than give you a raise. You make more money changing jobs every 2-3 years than you do by being loyal. Never do more than necessary or it will become necessary. Work/life balance is a fucking myth; strive for done, not for…
