The branch that I work at recently broke the sales record for 1 year of any branch in the 50+ years this company has existed (£36m)
As far as I’m aware, the unit manager has received a bonus. I’m not sure how much but someone said £10k though some suspect it might be more.
All of the actual shop floor employees have yet to see any actual bonuses or rewards and the closest we have gotten is a raise from £9.50 to £9.80.
They had shitty snack food out in the canteen and we got pizza as well, so that makes the 12 months of pure torment and harassment completely worth it.
They also recently just let about 30 people go who were on fixed term contracts because “we aren’t earning enough money”. This company preaches family ideals and excellence but is a complete fucking joke. Everyone is on edge about potentially being the next to go.
(EDIT: I did the math and even if every sales assistant was on the most hours, they could afford to triple our wages and still profit more than most of the branches in the top 500 stores)
