Saw something messed up.

So I work for a Big corporation which I will not name. My role is Asset Protection/EHS in a warehouse. Well today at 8am I saw something I would say was screwed up. An employee was escorted to the front by two managers and was being terminated for attendance. I'll call the employee “Sam”. The managers were asking Sam to clock out, turn in his badge and leave the premises. Sam refused and was asking for a letter of termination. One of the managers told Sam that HR will not be in until 8am and HR will mail out his termination papers. Well things got heated and both parties were shouting Sam still refused to clock out and demand a termination paper. Mangers told him they will clock him out manually, but Sam still needs to turn in his badge and leave premises or the cops will be called. Sam…

Mangers told him they will clock him out manually, but Sam still needs to turn in his badge and leave premises or the cops will be called. Sam calmed down and handed over his badge. As Sam was being escorted to the main entrance the Ops manager explained to him that since he called in yesterday that put him at max attendance points which is grounds for termination, and the Ops was notified by HR on how to handle the term. The Ops manager was going to call him at home and explain the reason for the term and not to come to work, but the Ops manager decided to do it Face to Face. That means Sam came to work clocked in at 5am and worked till 8am to be terminated, and the managers knew about it yesterday.

Oh and 1 point = 1 day. You can only miss 5 days you are termed. Once you receive a point that day you call in, it falls off in 6 months. Got to love corporate America.
