I (31m) am going on my first big vacation as an adult. I’m an attorney practicing at a midsize firm. Well this month I am scheduled to go on a 10 day European vacation. It’s been on my calendar and approved for months. Nobody has raised an issue with me going but I just know that when I get back it is going to be an absolute mess.
It really sucks that I can’t even enjoy the excitement of the anticipation without also feeling fear of the consequences of going on a vacation.
Ah the joys of capitalism.
Edit: I just wanted to add that I am very happy at my current firm I think this guilt and fear is more self imposed than anything.
