I just need to rant because I'm so pissed off and I have no one to talk to.
I applied for a job as a network engineer via a consulting firm. I sent them CV and personal letters and after a week I got a call from them and the recruiter told me that I seemed like a interesting candidate for the job and they invited me to a interview (in person interview) at 8am today.
I didn't get much sleep so I was really tired when I got up around 7:00am, the company was on the other side of the city so I had to take to buses there and it was cold af, slow commute and the buses were packed with loud annoying school kids.
I got there in time and we started the interview and it was going great, I answered all of their standard questions and it went well, until the end of the interview then the recruiter says
“I can see here that you have no prior experience work in this field and most of the companies we're recruiting for usually requires at least 2 years of working experience, so I wouldn't have that high hopes at getting the job but you never know some of the companies may hire you anyway.”
I was thinking of myself then why the fuck did you invite me to the interview if knew that I was lacking working experience in the field!? You can clearly see that on CV, I have the required education but I haven't worked in the field yet. They made me get up at 7 am go across the city, pay for the bus, wasted an hour of my time and you're gonna give me this? Nothing absolutely nothing. I could have applied for other jobs during these 3 hours.
This isn't even the first time stuff like this happens. What's even the point of in person interviews, it's way more time efficient for the applicant and the recruiter. I kinda make me miss the covid restrictions when all interviews were online.
And to top it all off I received an email just as I got home from the interview stating that they have moved on to other applicants..fml
