My boss forgot I had access to his calendar. He's currently interviewing people to replace me, in a role where it only makes sense to have 1 person. So I found out today I'm about to be fired. A few weeks before I'll have worked long enough to receive any unemployment in my locale. After working my butt off and getting our department in much better shape than when I started.
Also just found out about a medical condition I have that will require several expensive procedures. No idea what to do now or if I'll be able to afford the treatment I'll need. Is it just me or is it insane that this is an acceptable way for the system to work? There's 0 safety net…
