Seeking [ADVICE] Leadership Emails, Slack and Schedules Meetings before and after hours

I’m a manager of a small team at a INC1000 company. Here is a little about me and my team and company: I read r/antiwork a lot and naturally try to be a better leader – i always 100% of the time approve time off – never message team after hours – support and train them – more than half the team was promoted within 6-12 months – by far the best promotions of any team in the history of the company. I actively mentor them and encourage them to apply when higher roles open up. – I also lead by example by knowing the job inside and out. – never micromanage team. I hated when it was done to me so i don’t do it! – give them endless positive reinforcement – always make team look good in any reporting – fought and got the team 2 raises in…

I’m a manager of a small team at a INC1000 company. Here is a little about me and my team and company:

I read r/antiwork a lot and naturally try to be a better leader
– i always 100% of the time approve time off
– never message team after hours
– support and train them
– more than half the team was promoted within 6-12 months – by far the best promotions of any team in the history of the company. I actively mentor them and encourage them to apply when higher roles open up.
– I also lead by example by knowing the job inside and out.
– never micromanage team. I hated when it was done to me so i don’t do it!
– give them endless positive reinforcement
– always make team look good in any reporting
– fought and got the team 2 raises in 12 months and asked for no raise for myself

My small team often outperforms teams 2-3 times our size. And due to our unique set up, i don’t report to the regular VP of Sales like all other team leaders do but i directly report to the General Manager.

I end up joining the general leadership meetings even though our team runs differently.

The problem comes from the VP of Sales instructing all other leaders to be super micromanaging. They are supposed to deny time off, ask sick folks to come in, call them if behind on metrics for the day, set up folks on PIPs etc etc. In a short time there were massive process changes that were not well received including no less than 2 comp changes that made it harder to make $. Suffice it to say morale is low and we lost some people.

Because i don’t report to the VP i didn’t implement pretty much any of these micromanaging and negative changes and our team comp didn’t change because our team is unique.

The VP and Senior Manager asked all team leads to add them to team channels but i refused because i don’t report to them. I feel there is some animosity now because I’m often not invited to some leadership meetings and then struggle to keep up with any process changes when they happen because i wasn’t informed.

Where i struggle now is because the Senior Sales Manager and VP of Sales consistently send Slack and emails well before and well after regular hours. They also schedule mandatory town hall meetings for all before the shift starts! I’m having an allergic reaction to this but don’t know how to address it professionally. I’ve been told by multiple employees not on my team they feel company is turning crazy corporate and micromanaging and they are seeking other employment.

Any ideas?
