Hi all, I need some advice, it’s the first time I write on this sub which I love for the creativity of the replies I usually see.
I need some advice regarding my situation.
About five months ago I asked my company to be relocated under a different contract in a different country (working mainly remote) for personal reasons.
Both my manager and his boss (division manager) gave the green light for my request by leaving as only obstacle the HR approval which is supposed to arrive by end of February.
The fact is that we want our kids to start school in the new country by September and for this scope best is to have all the variables settled as soon as possible since time is running out.
Now the hard part is that since we really want to move I started to apply to another company (locally there) just in case I’m not having a real green light from HR (which is the last people on this fucked planet which I trust!).
Now the interview process with the new company went waayy faster than expected and therefore they want me to start there as soon as possible.
Issue is that the pay in the new company isn’t as great as in my actual company which so far is great also regarding the WFH arrangement (thanks to which the opportunity to work in the new country, where they have a fiscal subsidiary, opened up to start with).
My goal is to ask to my actual company , in a smart way, to hurry up in giving me a reply 1 month sooner than we originally agreed without burning “bridges” by threatening to leave.
How can I phrase it in the best way?
Thanks!
