Self-described “cool, funny” boss fired me for calling him “Big Papa”

A few years ago, I had a new job at an IT helpdesk. The boss was very laid back and had a great sense of humor. Or so he said… constantly. Then I got FIRED for calling my boss “big papa”. (I was trying to complement him on being a good leader for our team). He got so angry, he stormed both of us down to HR and he was shaking with fury and indignation when he told me: “i'm NObody's father.” Shaking. Vibrating with rage. I got fired the next day. So much for that laid back sense of humor! Alright, Mr. Painfully Obvious Daddy Issues, see you never.
