Hey. Soo just wanted to share my story.
I worked in a crechè/childcare. In 2021 I booked my holidays in February to fly home (I am from Lithuania but live in Ireland) for 3 weeks to sort out my wedding plans and visit family. The holidays were APPROVED. We bought the tickets and everything. A WEEK before my flight my manager calls me in to say we can no longer approve all of your holidays because of Covid as you might have to self isolate when you come back and that is not fair on everyone. My manager also told me that I can fly but only for a week and a half so that I can isolate for the other half if my Covid test came back positive. Manager kept explaining how other staff have holidays and we can't do this and so on yet my holidays were approved long ago. My manager then asks “SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?” and I said well I am still flying and I can't afford to change my flights. She the explained that if I fly for those 3 weeks and will need to isolate the week I should be back in work that head office will “INVESTIGATE” this. So that day when I came back home I wrote a resignation letter and sent it to them by e-mail. Next day when I came in to work my manager was really sarcastic and rude saying “OH WE GOT YOUR LETTER THANKS FOR THAT, WE WILL MISS YOU”.. I was like whatever. As the day went on she called me into the office and said we actually are really sad you are leaving and I hope you are not leaving because of this situation. We left it at there and on my last day of work my manager had a day off but she never came in to say goodbye (her kids attend the childcare there). Now a few days ago my co-worker texted me saying they are looking for staff and if I want to come back lol. I said thanks but noo way..
