Shorted tips

I started working at a new restaurant a few weeks ago after taking three months off work due to my dad passing away. The GM and all my coworkers are nice but I’ve already had multiple really weird run ins with the owners (mostly them criticizing me for not knowing everything in my first week) who are there several times a week and it’s been causing me anxiety on top of being emotionally exhausted from grieving. My coworkers have told me not to take it personally because the owners are just like that sometimes. Last week I was shorted an entire shift’s worth of tips (easily $100,) I emailed the person who handles tip outs and haven’t heard back for several days. I want to just quit but I’m broke from taking time off this winter. We shouldn’t have to put up with bosses who are “just like that sometimes”…

I want to just quit but I’m broke from taking time off this winter. We shouldn’t have to put up with bosses who are “just like that sometimes” especially when they can’t even do tip outs properly!
