Startup founders need only one thing, humility!

I have interviewed enough startups to say this confidently, the new age CEOs and Founders are outright arrogant! They try to hide it behind the mask of “being open” or “being honest” culture but cannot take it back, if you try to do the same with them! Once I was interviewing for a VC funded startup, and in final round the founder asked me what was my opinion on their social media presence. Once I was interviewing for a VC funded startup, and in final round the founder asked me what was my opinion on their social media presence. I told him that the SEO needed improvement and that their LinkedIn page needed some modifications, to which he says “I don't care about idiotic social media anyway, if it gets us some candidates good, otherwise I don't give a f*** what happens to those pages”

In another interview with a recently funded startup interview the founder asked me why I had changed 2 jobs in two years,I told him it was personal reason and that I had to take care of my mother suffering from cancer still after the interview he says “Your profile is great but I am concerned with you not being loyal to one company”

One early stage startup owner asked me my salary expectations, and offered me 30% less, and told me I had to work on weekends as well, when I told him that was a concern, he said “it's start-up, not your 9-5 corporate job, we don't measure work”

The list goes on, but the point is only because you have been successful at something right now, doesn't mean it will last forever!
