Should I ask for an in-name only promotion and tell my manager I’m applying for a job I’m wholly unqualified for?

I'm applying for a job that I'm not qualified for. Chief Operating Officer to be exact. I don't currently have an official leadership position at my fast food job. Thing is, everywhere I've worked my bosses have asked why I haven't gone up for a promotion or straight up asked if I wanted one. They are rarely worth it at fast food places, but now that I'm doing this, it'd be handy to have on the resumé. I'm thinking I could ask my boss for a meaningless title like Cashier Team Lead or something like that. I'll even get nothing extra to sweeten the deal. I already do extra administrative work to help out, so I'm a step closer than anyone else to this fake position anyway. Should I ask for this? And should I tell my manager why I'm doing it? Should I ask for this? And should I tell my manager why I'm doing it? We have a friendly relationship but one of her top people leaving could be a problem. That said, she isn't going to be around as much in the new year, so it's not as much her problem.
