I work for a small company and I am dependent on someone else putting calls on my calendar. There are of course tons of things I could be working on but over the past few months, I just have not had the motivation. Today, my manager has canceled the calls that were on my calendar and I am just sitting here watching my email and slack. I feel guilty about not doing anything but I also feel like it is their responsibility to make sure there is work to be done. I am of course worried that it might mean head count reduction but I don’t think me doing extra work is going to change anything. It is a well paying job and I am a senior resource so I should be actively working on process improvement but my manager is a control freak and at the end of the day, his way goes. I also just don’t feel like helping him anymore. I guess I am just trying to justify doing less and figured this sub would understand.
