I was fired from my dream job today. My work has spoken for itself. I'm one of the top employees, so it's a shock. Especially when the reason given was that a colleague filed a complaint about a conversation he had with me alone, off the clock (technically), at a coffee shop while on a work trip in another state.
They're giving me a great severance package (1 month of health insurance and pay) and I get to keep my computer (remote worker) but feel like this happened unfairly. I know, your coworkers aren't your friends, but I shouldn't be fired for something that happened off the clock.
