Hi all!
I work in logistics and was actually written up today for being 8 minutes basically away from my computer. I was running late one day and clocked in while still in the parking lot, and was written up today for stealing company time. I was like, honestly I thought this was a salary promotion meeting since I saved the company my entire salary + some in different shipping areas this past 2022 year…. I even sent my supervisor and my boss my YTD PR and neither of them responded last week, but then wrote me up for being late 8 min today….
The best part is I have a new job lined up making 50% more and it is salary! I start 1/3.
Now comes the tricky part. I am trying to decide when to let them know I have quit. I basically already silently quit because the company refuses to give me a promotion even though I am legit saving them a bundle of money! But at the same time would like to give 2 weeks because it's the right thing to do – however in the past I gave 2 weeks and the manager fired me on the spot. Kind of worried that would happen again, since I was just written up and the company has holiday's they must pay coming up.
What is your advice?
Should I give the two weeks notice today and take of the week of 12/26 through 12/30 before starting a new job. Money is kind of tight, but I should be able to catch back up with this new promotion in a few weeks.
Give my two weeks notice on 12/19 and start the new job on 1/3, kind of worried my boss will just fire me since 12/22, 12/23, 12/20 and 1/2 are company holidays.
Give no two weeks notice and just don't come in 1/3. Just go to the new job lol.
Take two weeks of vacation and sick time in January…
LMK!
