Should I Start A Workplace Petition?

I work at a daycare for context. So our boss has decided (a few months ago) that our monthly staff meetings will be held after work hours instead of during. Not a single employee was happy about it. Even the assistant director was unhappy with it. She said that she wants our voices to be heard so she wants us all in a room together and she starts with games, silly questions, and other things that prolong the meeting unnecessarily. There are many employees with scheduling conflicts as a result, others who have to find childcare for their children, and 4 of us who live too far away to go home between our shift and the meeting so we sit there for 2 hours waiting. I typed up a workplace petition to have the staff sign and plan to present it at the next meeting but I’m honestly a bit nervous about it. Is this the right way to go about it? I’ll put what I wrote in the comments.
