should minimum wage increase mean that all employees get a raise?

I have a decent work situation for myself rn, but my partner and a few of my friends have an issue at the moment. Our state's minimum wage went up by $1.25 with the turn of the new year. This means that new employees starting at the companies my partner and friends work at are making similar amounts to the amount my friends and partners are making after 2 to 4 years of small raises. Is there a good way to go about asking for a raise in that situation? In a bigger sense I believe that everyone should be paid the same thing in any job, because you need functioning toilets to be a CEO, but since this is the system we're in I think they should be getting some sort of inflation adjustment. Thoughts?
