sick of being stuck in these retail jobs and not getting hired for jobs i actually would want (big vent)

i'm 24 years old, no Bachelors' degree or certification, but a strong passion for graphic design, visual art, and crafting. tbh i don't even think i'm that bad. but i'm also not outstanding either; at least not enough to land me a job in the industry as of late. it's…competitive. frankly, if i could make enough money to be comfortable, just writing a webcomic (my dream as a child was to be a manga artist but i think webcomic artist is more ideal now) i would be satisfied with life. but, sadly, my life hasn't turned out that way. (yet?) school is not really an option at the moment so i'm kind of stuck in this retail/receptionist limbo when it comes to careers. most of my actual professional experience is working a retail job. i'm also autistic, and have had to mask my whole life, so a lot of people…

(yet?)

school is not really an option at the moment so i'm kind of stuck in this retail/receptionist limbo when it comes to careers. most of my actual professional experience is working a retail job.

i'm also autistic, and have had to mask my whole life, so a lot of people think i'm neurotypical when first meeting me based on my masked behavior alone. kind of why i'm so good at getting hired for these customer service positions (and very quick to ditch them when they start overwhelming me lmao…) but the truth is, i hate interacting with strangers and i hate talking in general. and i get frustrated with myself knowing i could be doing something i love that makes me more comfortable (therefore more efficient) for money, but just won't get hired. either i don't have the education or experience. or i just suck lol

i'm so sick of these jobs that make me rip my hair out. if i really have to work, i'd so much rather be in the creative field. (and really not answer to anyone but idk how likely that will be)

i honestly just hate this and i'm feeling like a huge failure in life
