So, F The Company Abreviated as OG

Obligatory apology for the formatting due to being on mobile. So, my wife works for OG as a hostess. She has some fairly major back issues, unfortunately we need a second source of income. The job started out good, and she really liked it. But yesterday her back started really giving her fits and because a customer called and complained that she wasn't smiling and was walking slowly she was called in to talk to her manager. So, this morning she woke up in a ton of pain and called in. Her shift was supposed to start at 11:30CST and she called at 9:30 with no answer, then she followed up the call at 10 and was told that because she “hadn't called before the two hour mark it is an unexcused absence.”

Tomorrow she plans to go in with her cane and see what happens.

I don't understand the “work till you break” or “you aren't allowed to be human or in pain at work” mentality. They don't give her insurance, or offer her any benefits. I supply those, and we are in the process of getting the situation taken care of, but the surgery is expensive and we still have to pay 20% per my insurance.
