A couple weeks ago, right before Christmas lmao. I called off twice in the same week, telling them that I was feeling sick, which I was, but apparently no one else (in my workplace) had called off even a single day throughout the year, so I got fired.
Point being, I’ve been relying on Grubhub for income, but the app (along with other food delivery apps) have been going through a dry spell, leaving a bunch of drivers without enough pay.
Today, I have less than $10 in my bank account and have passed my credit card limit. I would basically be homeless if it weren’t for my parents and friends.
But I’m tired of being a wage slave. Was being a wage slave worth earning $700 a week? It really wasn’t. I’m glad I only lasted a month because the lack of freedom I had was unbearable. I would work from 5 am to 5pm or later, Mon-Fri. I’m sorry for those that have it way harder, I really am, but idk how people just bite their lip and push through the monotony, the exploitation of our time and energy.
I don’t want to go back to selling my time for someone who can just easily replace me whenever they felt like it.
So I need help…
How have you guys been surviving without sacrificing your life’s hours for a mediocre wage? I guess I’m asking how to make money independently, on your own time, at your own pace. Grubhub has been my main form of income, but I’m hoping I could do something better ASAP because I’m still not earning enough. What do I need to sell? What am I missing??
Thank you
