Background:
My former workplace, took $250 tips from me in a span of 1 year. Tips were recorded on my earned wages but not added to the paystub. My boss deducts taxes from my whole salary and that's without the tip, the tips I never got. I live in Hawaii. I looked up the regulations on how to report wage theft. Well in Hawaii, it's basically not wage theft because I'm earning the minimum wage so the tips don't matter. I also called the IRS to have them audited but they said that it's a very low tip amount and not legible for audit.
This workplace really wrong me. They are verbally abused and harassed me. They also did so much unimaginable abused towards me. There's also many nepotism and favoritism. There's also some sort of racism that Asian employees quit the workplace. I quit back in December 2022 because they're really abusive.
Update:
Well I couldn't do anything about it and suffer from whatever trauma I experienced there. But early March, I got a call from the Police department at midnight asking if I still work at the cat cafe because no staff, manager, and owner were answering their phones (I think they still haven't removed me from their emergency contact list). I said no, not anymore. So I wonder what's up. I checked their instagram site the next day. I learned someone broke in that shop. The cats are fine, but they broke the entrance door and broke all the glass, took the HEPA filter, took the Ipad, and a cash register with a $250 cash in it. Some passerby probably later on called and saw the incident.
What's weird is that, this workplace is next to another shop that is easier to break into with a visible cash register and no proper security. It's also next to a pawnshop. There's also so many nearby shops. Why this one specifically??? And it was really rainy and full of thunder that night, so they could've break into many places and not be heard.
