I told you guys how I worked a day that I'd normally be working but didn't have to because I was told it was a training day and no one said otherwise.
Here's the thing, last week they told us we'd have to come into the office 3 days out of 5 starting today. I told them that was impossible for me because Covid Is still really, really bad here.
I have multiple heart defects, one of which also limits my lung capacity, and I have scarring on my lungs from having regular pneumonia 3 times as a child. Which means I'd be super likely to wind up in the hospital or worse if I got Covid. I didn't explain all the details because frankly it's none of their business, but I do have a letter from my cardiologist explaining basically a cliff notes version of my medical history and I offered to submit that to HR.
I called in sick on Friday because I had a horrible migraine and couldn't even wear my headphones. I spent most of the day in bed. Then I get a call telling me I've been let go because I made it clear I wasn't going to work in office and risk my health.
