Around 4pm, my boss asked me to have a tea time at a cafe near a office.
In my previous posts, my jobs are dealing with all requirements from the store and sales.
Technically, the sales is about having partnership with brands that are not able to run stores so that they can use the zones in my company's building.
I was able to have many meetings with the clients, but nothing was successful. To be honest, the store of my company has no appealing options for them to give money and put their products as a pop up store.
This afternoon, my boss warned me that I should make some profits for the company and stop caring about the operation work of the store. Instead of talking to the manager directly, he wanted the manager to Kakao him in open chat. He found the way I work with the staffs very inefficient, and it bothers me.
Again, in my old posts, the management does not seem to care about anything to run the business. Any requests regarding to running the store and sales plans, he never gave me feedback, nor told me off.
At the cafe, I tried to explain him why, and every time I did, he said that “oh, you did not see my points. here is saying. there is lemon in your life, then make a lemonade.” “We're not financially good, and this is small company.” “Your main job is sales, and you must do everything, but still sales is your top priority.”
It sounded so ridiculous that I said to him in return, “Well, you knew that all potential clients didn't like our store, and why are you blaming me? You never tried to change the business plan or something?”
Again, he ignored me, and kept saying the same dialouge, and at the end of the session, he asked me, “Well, is there anything you would like to say?” “Is there anything you want me to hear?”
His attitude was like he acted as if he could listen to me, without finding solution or willingness to hearing me. Never was able to converse with this guy.
My final comment was that “the store operation is not easy as you believe, and you should know that.”
He didn't answer me and we came back to the office.
I do know that since last week, I am complaining about my work to random ppl on reddit, but I want you to know that crazy shit happens in South Korean companies.
Wish you don't get gaslighted or become the target of the blame..
